Vehicle fitment requires more than comparing a model year. Cab style, trim, seat hardware, storage options and interior revisions can change the available space. Verify the vehicle and the enclosure before ordering.
Identify the exact vehicle configuration
- Year, make and model
- Regular, extended or crew cab where applicable
- Seat layout and factory storage
- Interior trim or equipment that occupies the installation area
Use vehicle-specific enclosures as a starting point, but read each listing’s stated application and measurements. A collection label is not a substitute for product-level verification.
Measure the destination and the loading path
Record the usable width, height and depth with seats in normal positions. Then measure doors, hatch openings, pass-throughs and turns required to place the enclosure. A box can fit the final location but still be impossible to load.
Check operating clearance
Confirm seat travel, folding mechanisms, cargo use, ventilation and access to service points. Leave the woofer and port unobstructed. KICKER’s guidance specifically warns against placing a port against a solid surface because restricted airflow changes operation.
Verify the subwoofer fit separately
The enclosure must also match the driver’s mounting depth, cutout, recommended airspace and intended sealed or vented design. For exact-model options, browse subwoofer-specific boxes. Review the box selection checklist before purchasing.
Plan secure installation
An enclosure must not become unsecured cargo. Choose a structurally appropriate restraint method for the vehicle and installation; do not drill into unknown wiring, fuel-system or safety-component locations. A professional installer should evaluate unfamiliar vehicles.
When a standard enclosure cannot satisfy both the acoustic specifications and the vehicle envelope, use Atrend’s custom enclosure path.
